when is time to Shopping a dvd player we have to be careful to choose one, because we could save some bucks if we really know what we want, and thats what we learn today, although I said that the difference between dvd players are very small, but these small difference could cost us more that we want to spend.

The Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) has taken the VCR market so fast in these couple years, that you can see nowadays more than 250 types of dvd players for different brands.

Like I said in my first article of DVD player, the DVD players has grown so dvd playerfast that in these days when its time to shopping a dvd player you can find prices from 39.99 to 5000+, amazing uh?. yeah you can find DVD player at that price...

The higher data capacity also allows DVDs to store high-resolution digital music programs in stereo and surround sound. Two channels of such high-resolution music are a feature of all DVD players.

A format called DVD-Audio is designed specifically to deliver multi-channel high-resolution music content. Very few DVD players currently available can play these DVD-A discs, but if you're a serious music lover and you are shopping a dvd player this is a feature you should keep in mind. A sampling rate of 88.2kHz or 96kHz (twice or better than on CD) combined with 24-bit "word length" offer consumers sound quality previously unavailable outside of the finest recording studios. Speaking of compact discs, all DVD players will play your existing CDs.

among the varieties of DVD player we can find the DVD player portal, that you can take it with you whenever you want. I have one in my car, if you don’t have any good reason to buy one, I give you one, your children or child, you’ll be surprise how quite they will be in your car when you bring one DVD player to your car, its amazing.

shopping a dvd player it isn't complicate, although nowadays are offer with Single-play or Multi-play option, that means, like the CD players that can put three or more CDs in it, you can do the same with the dvd player. In my opinion, you don’t need multi-disc DVD because, to be honest nobody watch three movies at the same-time its impossible, not even in the same day, so it doesn’t justify pay more for get one of these.

There are two important things you need to consider when shopping a dvd player

DVD PLAYER CONNECTION: shopping a dvd player (part I)

dvd conection

There are several types of connections that DVD player can deliver the image and audio to your T.V. or your projector that you consider before shopping a dvd player:

Composite and S-Video. The most common connections are composite and S-Video. A composite video connection looks like the same RCA connection you use to attach your sound system, and it carries brightness, color, and timing information in a single signal. but a better option should be (if your monitor have the option) is S-Video, which separates the signal into a black and white (contrast) and color component. This delivers a clearer image with crisper colors.

Component Video Output. Better yet, If you planning connect it to a large T.V. or a projecto for your home theatre is component video output, which uses three connectors, color-coded red, green, and blue. Component video separates the signal into a full bandwidth black and white picture signal, and two signals that carry the color differences. The video information on a DVD is stored as component video, so component video is the best format for displaying the picture.

Progressive Scan. A new video deli very option is progressive scan, which converts the interlaced video signal to one in which all the lines in the frame are scanned sequentially, a step towards the digital television future. However, many progressive scan TVs don't deal well with non-anamorphic signals. If progressive scan is an important feature to you, make sure the HDTV you buy permits aspect ratio adjustment on progressive input.

DVD FOR YOUR HOME THEATER: shopping a dvd player (part II)

DVD Surround Sound. All DVD players are also capabledvd player of sending two channels of analog signal to a receiver, so you don't have to have surround sound speakers to listen to your CDs or DVDs. Some DVD players have Dolby Digital processing built in and can output 5.1 channels of analog signal to a receiver that does not have its own Dolby Digital capability, although some DVD player have surround sound capabilities built in, in my opinion I rather have my surround sound speakers with my home theater.

Some DVD players can also accommodate DTS (Digital Theater Systems), another surround sound system that, like Dolby Digital, requires a separate processor (although many processors can translate both Dolby Digital and DTS). DTS offers some t advantages over Dolby Digital (it uses less data compression).

Delivering Different Size Pictures. Films are shot in a variety of widescreen aspect ratios the most common is the standard television, has a screen with an aspect ratio of 4:3 (also expressed as 1.33:1). When DVDs reproduce aspect ratios such as 16:9, they mask the top and bottom of the TV screen with black bars to recreate the rectangular (letterbox) shape of the original theatrical release.
Some DVDs are available with the letterbox image on one side of the disc, and, for those people who dislike the black bars, a specially formatted 4:3 image on the other. Other discs use anamorphic mastering, a process that compresses a film's widescreen picture to fit the 4:3 aspect ratio of a typical television. DVD players can un-squeeze the anamorphic image, generating the black bars to create a letterbox image and retaining a film's full resolution. For HDTVs, the anamorphic image is decompressed to fit the 16:9 screen, without the black bars.

TVs for DVD. To get the most out of your DVD player, you should have a high quality video monitor, such as a direct-view TV 32 inches or larger, or one of the even higher-resolution video devices, such as a Plasma TV. You'll find DVD's sharpness of detail far more noticeable as the screen size increases. A Dolby Digital surround sound system will also add excitement to your movies.

I hope this article "shopping a dvd player" could help you to decide which one is the best for you.
