Car speakers: say it laud!!

If you just want to upgrade your car speakers you may interested in a speaker set, because the whole set can save you money, its cheaper that buy them separately.

Note: Before you buy anyone, I recommend you check you stereo and see what is the maximum power it can handle, for example: some stereos have 160 watts max power handle, so that’s mean 160/4 = 40 watts max. per channel, so speakers that have an RMS of 40W or less will be able to be powered by you stereo system.

When Shopping speakers, it’s important to consider their efficiency (sensitivity)stereo car speakers which determines how far the sound will travel. Efficiency is measured in decibels per watt at one meter, or dB/Wm. If you’re going to be playing your system continuously, you should focus more on the maximum power RMS (the maximum power the speaker can produce continuously), instead of just the maximum peaking power.

To get the full range of sound in your car your car you will need a component speaker set, which covers all frequency ranges. You should have all the bass in the back of your car and the higher pitched car speakers like the tweeters in the front. A basic setup should include:

  1. Two tweeters in the front (usually in the door)

  2. Two multi-element or midrange car speakers near the back
  3. a sub-woofer in the back. (optional)

car speakersUnless your speakers are very high performance, your deck should be able to power your component so that you can leave your amplifier to focus on only your subwoofer . If you’re going to connect your amplifier to them as well as your sub-woofer, you will need a crossover to distribute the right frequencies to their necessary car speakers.
